Welcome to Glasgow's Scottish Youth Parliament Elections 2026.
Glasgow will elect 15 members of the Scottish Youth Parliament in early November. The candidates are all young people aged 14-25 who have said that they want to represent you in the Scottish Youth Parliament.
You'll need a Young Scot Card to vote. You can only use your Young Scot card to vote once, and the card must be registered to a Glasgow address. If you haven't got a card, have lost it, or you live outside Glasgow but are still eligible to vote (if for example you stay in another local authority but go to school, college or university in Glasgow) then you can apply for a temporary voting number. This should be returned to you within 48 hours. Click here to apply for a temporary voting number.
When you're ready, click on the next section to cast your vote. You can vote for as many candidates as you like within the constituency, but remember to click them in the order that you prefer them - this is how you choose your preferred candidates.

Vote for Your Candidates

Voting is open now! Choose the candidates that you want to represent you in the Scottish Youth Parliament. Use your Young Scot Card to vote in this election. You need to log in with your Young Scot Card number. This is found below your name and above your date of birth and should start with 6337 if you live in Glasgow. Unfortunately, if you don’t live in Glasgow then you can’t vote in this election unless you have a temporary voting number - please apply for this below. You can only get a voting number if you are in education in Glasgow.
If you don’t have a Young Scot Card, then please click here to request a temporary voting number, which can only be used in the election.
Read the candidate profiles before your vote to check out what they've said about why they want to be an MSYP and how they will consult with you and work with you to make sure that your voice is heard.
You need to select the candidates in order of preference for your vote. This means that the candidate you support most should be at the top of the list – make sure to click on their name first.
