National museum in Scotland to look at Scottish role in empire and slavery

In line with the Empire, Slavery and Scotland’s Museums steering group recommendations, Scotland should have a dedicated space to address our role in empire, colonialism and historic slavery. This should be support by Glasgow City Council and it should include local stories about Glasgow and its prominent role in empire and slavery. Glasgow City Council should help to facilitate the creation of this museum through calling for its creation and help with its establishment and the establishment of archives and a collection.

Will there be a space exploring the Scottish slaves? Will there be a space exploring Africa's involvement in the sale and enslavement of its own people? Will there be a space exploring the African slave traders who owned white slaves?

This is nothing more than publicly funded racial division. Glasgow doesnt support slavery now, tax payers of today should not be funding grievance politics by race grifters insistent on driving racial tensions. The vast majority of people in Glasgow at the time didnt own, buy or sell slaves. It was the wealthy.

GCC should focus its time, energy and TAX PAYERS money on issues that actually cause suffering now and today. Not something that happened 200 years ago.
