Why do you want to become an MSYP
I want to be an MSYP as many issues affecting young people are either overlooked or decided by adults, such as the phone ban. I want to be a voice for young people to communicate any issues that are troubling them and to allow for more younger voices to be heard. I want to make clear to young people that they can have their concerns listened to without judgement or fear as they also matter .
Why should someone vote for you?
I believe people should vote for me as I will not be afraid to speak out for young people no matter what would happen. Young people deserve more from adults, and I want every young person in the constituency to feel apart of the decision-making process. As well as this, I will listen to concerns that people have and make sure that everyone is treated with the upmost respect.
How will you consult with young people in your constituency?
I will consult young people in the area by making surveys to find out the opinions of the people, focus groups to allow for issues to be discussed thoroughly – allowing for people to discuss their main issues with their opinions on the matter, but as well as making power-points (and talks) to inform people on issues young people should know.
What are your top three issues from the list given?
Health and Wellbeing, Education and Lifelong Learning, Environment. The issue that matters to me the most is education, though education helps with your future learning, it does not prepare you for everything, such as understanding how mis/disinformation affects your daily life - which has been on a rise over the years. This is part of why I am passionate about education.
