Why do you want to become an MSYP
I want to be an MSYP because I want to give young people a voice. We have such a good community and amazing young people in the area yet some people still don’t listen to us. Adults should listen to young people and show us respect when we talk about how there isn’t enough spaces for us young people anymore. I believe we can make our community better than ever if we speak up.
Why should someone vote for you?
People should vote for me because I can talk to people and actually listen to them to understand what they want and need, I like to work with others and in groups and I am also honest and respectful to everyone around me.
How will you consult with young people in your constituency?
I would like to meet people in public such as in focus groups and presentations, while also having online surveys and quizzes to discuss topics with young people in the area.
What are your top three issues from the list given?
Health and Wellbeing, Education and Lifelong Learning, Environment. An issue that matters to me is young people’s mental health, I have seen my own peers struggling and unable to get help and support sometimes. I think there should be spaces for young people no matter what they’re going through.
