Why do you want to become an MSYP

I want to become an MSYP to represent the young people in Glasgow. I care deeply about our community and want to make it a better place for everyone. I will listen closely to everyone’s view and make sure our voices are heard loudly and clearly by adults.

Why should someone vote for you?

You should vote for me because I am a hard worker and a good listener who genuinely cares about our community and other peoples views. I will stand up for what we need and make sure our voices are actually heard, and I’m ready to make a difference for everyone.

How will you consult with young people in your constituency?

I will listen to young people by being active on social media and creating quick online polls to get their opinions. I will also hold assemblies at my own school, visit other local schools and youth groups to chat with people directly about what changes they want to make.

What are your top three issues from the list given?

Health and Wellbeing, Transport, Sport and Leisure. Health and wellbeing matters to me, because too many young people are facing mental health challenges caused by isolation and excessive screen time. Mental health impacts everything in our lives to how we do in school and how we feel about ourselves, and the percentage of youth deaths caused by suicide has gone up over the years, now reaching 26% of all deaths in our age group due to mental health.
