School safety zones are not honoured. Cars recklessly drive through with no concerns for pedestrians or cyclists.

I'm sorry to hear that, only Police Scotland can enforce the zones, however we do have regular engagement events to deter this illegal behaviour. If there is a specific school zone where this is happening, please email RoadSafety@glasgow.gov.uk and we will take some action.

Reckless driving - including reckless parking. Too fast, too close, too hard to see what's coming. Most drivers are lovely but it just takes one... I'm also concerned by the number of drivers using phones, and the general lack of good infrastructure for cycling and some pedestrian crossings.

Thank you for your comments, we are currently upgrading a number of crossing facilities in the city as well as introducing new infrastructure to support active travel. The Give Me Space campaign has helped to further educate drivers on their responsibilities towards vulnerable road users, but we appreciate more work has to be done in this area which is now on the agenda for the next Go Safe Glasgow road safety partnership meeting in November 2023. Driver distraction has been subject to a previous campaign in the city, however, more need to be done in this area as digital technology in cars increases. Six points and a hefty fine for using a phone whilst driving should deter this sort of behaviour. Recent changes in legislation now make it easier for the police to prosecute individuals caught on their phones.

Patching up potholes instead of repairing them properly
