Hard to pick a single answer. I've gone for "reckless driving" since it's the most general way to describe the near-anarchy we have on the roads, and there's no distinction to be made between "driving recklessly" and speeding, being distracted, or being drunk. All of these mean you are more dangerous to everyone around you and they should be much more strictly policed than they actually are. The general standard of driving is extremely poor.

Illegal/dangerous parking is also absolutely endemic in the city and it's rare to see any enforcement. It's become a complete free-for-all: on junctions, on pavements, on corners, on fully segregated cycle paths, in pedestrianised areas, blocking dropped kerbs, etc. There's nowhere drivers won't park if they can get there without damaging their vehicle.

School safety zones are not honoured. Cars recklessly drive through with no concerns for pedestrians or cyclists.

Dangerous driving is on top of the list and this includes a few of your suggestions (speeding, reckless driving behaviour, distracted driving and drunk driving).

There is a new classic driving move that I have observed many times over the past few months: drivers speeding to overtake a car/cyclist that has rightfully stopped at the red light in front of them. I have experienced it as the driver/cyclist of that car/bike that had stopped, as a pedestrian about to cross and as a cyclist waiting to be able to turn right at the light. This used to happen at quiet times, but I now see it more and more at peak traffic time. The last time as a cyclist was really scary.

Vehicles parked badly on double yellow lines and around corners in narrow roads also represent a risk for pedestrians who then become invisible when trying to cross, and cyclists and drivers who cannot see incoming traffic and have to turn much wider then their lane to get around the parked vehicles.

School Zone - fairly effective, but some parents (and carers) flaunt rules by driving within the zone, parking partially on pavements, across corners and dropped kerbs, keeping their engines running, driving the wrong way on one-way streets.
20mph limits on most streets - most drivers observe this but a few travel at speeds in excess. Restricted Parking Zone - has cleared a lot of kerb space and largely eliminated obstructive and inconsiderate parking, provides pedestrians with better lines of sight and gaps between vehicles which pedestrians, wheelers and cyclists can use as temporary refuges. Most of the streets are residential, very few have designated crossing places and pedestrians, rightly, can cross on their 'desire lines'. Dropped kerbs at almost all corners for easier transit for prams and wheelchairs. Speed bumps - effective to some extent, but cause road wear, potholes and puddling. One way systems - has largely reduced rat running. Kerb side railings - dangerous.

New segregated cycle paths have been created next to where I live which has been great however they aren’t respected by many car drivers who make illegal turns across the cycle lane at junctions, park on the cycle path, and drive across it / reverse across it without checking to get access to houses on the other side.

Hello Crawford, Glasgow Road Policing officers regularly work with local polciing to run Operation close Pass (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7ma6psvZm8) events throughout Glasgow. These are aimed at educating drivers and enforcementaction is taken if appropriate. We also have calendar of campaigns that target activity on specific areas to improve road safety, targeting specific issues. For example our Get Ready For Winter is coming up and will see us deploy officers to road checks around the city.

With the decriminalisation of parking, some residential streets have unsafe parking i.e. parking on corners which makes it difficult for pedestrians trying to cross the road as well as drivers who are unable to see what is coming. Parking on pavements also results in pedestrians having to walk onto the road to get past parked cars which can leave them vulnerable. This type of parking should be addressed.

1. Reduce speeds to 20mph on all streets. 2. Introduce more 'tables' for continuous walking and wheeling and to slow vehicles. 3. redesign corners at junctions so that vehicles have to slow down to turn safely. 4. Remove kerb side railings. 5. Increase the frequency of bus services and have buses stop in-lane. 5. Replace signalised crossings with zebra crossings. 6. Have at least one no-traffic day on a number of streets each year. 7. Encourage more children to walk, wheel or cycle to school as in the Shawlands 'bike bus'. 8. Improve visibility and sightlines by repairing street lights promptly, having all hedges and vegetation cut to reasonable widths while maintaining greenery, widening pavements. 9. Reduce pavement clutter. 10, Clearing gutters, gullies and fallen leaves. 11. Promote local health walks.

Getting the city network up and running asap will help a lot, but will obviously take time.
Shorter term: enforcement - op close pass, dashcam/helmentcam submissions, parking fines

1 - Implement a positive communication campaign about this in the media, on the back of the buses etc and educate drivers ahead of the change. People may be more receptive if they understand all the reasons why the speed has been dropped in given areas and what the expected benefits are. 2 - Many streets are one way and very wide, somehow "inviting" speeding. Return traffic in those one way streets to both ways and narrow the lanes when they are far too wide (still making sure it is wide enough for buses and lorries). Maybe also add zebras to show that drivers do not have the priority everywhere. Consider turning the space gained in wider pavement, planters, segregated cycle lanes or even some legal parking zones to make it look less like a race course. (on a side note, this would also reduce travel distance and unnecessary traffic in some cases, thus reducing noise and pollution? And it would make it easier to cycle from A to B).

Unless there is enforcement action with a 20mph limit I don't think its going to matter, drivers often park, drive and behave with impunity.

That's really simple: actions which genuinely reflect this priority! e.g. don't allow proposals for segregated infrastructure to be watered down because a few people complain about losing their favourite parking spot. Be open to closing MANY more residential rat-runs to vehicles. Involve people who cycle/walk regularly in the design of the infrastructure intended for them and incorporate their feedback *before* building anything. Add raised table crossings at junctions wherever possible to help slow traffic down. Reduce wait times for pedestrians at traffic lights and increase pedestrian phase lengths. Start to steadily replace parking (especially free parking) with almost anything else (housing, footpaths, parklets, bike parking, cycle paths, tables/benches, trees, ...). Continue joining up the various bits of the segregated cycle network. Remove useless painted cycle gutters and build more segregated lanes instead. Parking enforcement. Aim for >50% reduction in car km by 2030!

Identify positives first - Glasgow has a very significant urban rail system, a Subway, the city centre is very (too?)well served by buses. These form the foundation. Bus services increased both in number of routes and frequency, fares made much more affordable, with 'tap-on tap-off no ticket issued' being universal. The system used should be transferrable between modes. Not all buses should go via city centre, with interchanges around the centre allowing to transfer to train, subway, hire bike or walking. Introduce more cross city buses avoiding city centre. No parking inside the city centre (with the exception) and 'park and ride' facilities at interchanges outside a 3km radius of George Square. More pedestrianisation outside the city centre in local town centres. We still have a number of '15 minute areas' within Glasgow - these should be highlighted and emphasised as in Manchester.

Act faster when advised about design problems. Supervise Construction closer. South City Way and Garscube Road problems were identified by ordinary people from plans and early in construction. Council was informed. There is Still a CCTV camera in the middle of South city way and illegal left turns at Cumberland street are an hourly occurance.
