I want to become an MSYP because I believe young people deserve to have a genuine say in the decisions that affect their lives. I want to use my experience in youth representation to make sure young people in my area are listened to, particularly those who may not normally have the confidence or opportunities to speak up. I also want to turn the views of young people into meaningful action, whether that is improving access to opportunities, protecting young people’s rights or tackling inequality.

I want to become an MSYP because I believe young people should have a real say in decisions that affect their lives. I’m not the loudest person, but I’m a good listener and I want to help make sure different voices are heard.

I want to become an MSYP to represent the young people in Glasgow. I care deeply about our community and want to make it a better place for everyone. I will listen closely to everyone’s view and make sure our voices are heard loudly and clearly by adults.

I want to be an MSYP because I know that people are unhappy with the way exams are structured, and feel that they are an unfair evaluation of their abilities.

A lot of the time it feels like politics doesn't work for young people the way it should – too often people are focused on dividing 'us' from 'them' rather that working as 'we'. I've already spent 2 years representing young people on a local and national level, and the best feeling in the world is making change – making life just that little bit better. I want to be an MSYP because we deserve change: through better education, stuff to do outside of school, and cheaper public transport. And that's what I'm running to deliver.

Most young people in Glasgow have never talked to a politician. A lot of us feel like nobody in charge is listening. I want to fix that. I’m not running to push my own ideas. I’m running to be your voice. I’ll take what young people in Glasgow Central care about and say it straight to the people who make the decisions. I already do this at university, where students pick me to speak up for them. As an MSYP, I want to do the same thing for everyone in our area. I also want to help young people meet politicians and speak for themselves.

I want to be a MSYP because Glasgow Anniesland is a community of many people from different walks of life. I believe our area could be improved by more clubs and opportunities for young people to meet and gain qualifications like first aid. First aid is a very important skill that everyone should have the chance to learn the basics of as it can make change to the place we live like more supplies like defibrillators being installed. I think there should be more secondary places for young people to gain support and supplies for school. Everyone deserves to have their thoughts heard as young people are the next generation.

I want to be an MSYP as many issues affecting young people are either overlooked or decided by adults, such as the phone ban. I want to be a voice for young people to communicate any issues that are troubling them and to allow for more younger voices to be heard. I want to make clear to young people that they can have their concerns listened to without judgement or fear as they also matter .
